Your wedding ceremony
Congratulations to you both – you have chosen the special one to love for the rest of your lives and have decided to get married!
Now you need a celebrant – one who can creatively design and deliver your own personalised wedding ceremony.
I have been a registered marriage celebrant for several years and am a member of the Celebrant Association of New Zealand.
I will work with you to create a joyful ceremony that truly celebrates your love for each other, making it a memorable event for you both and your extended families and friends.
I will help you to make your wedding ceremony planning stress-free and enjoyable, crafting a ceremony that is insightful of your relationship and journey together, with respect, humour and meaning.
You will find that I am
• A good communicator
• An engaging public speaker
• Friendly and warm
• Organised and punctual
• Flexible and accommodating
• Calm under pressure
I bring to my celebrant role many skills and experiences of a life lived 200% – with passion, joy and a sense of adventure.
I am a meditation teacher and Ishaya monk of The Bright Path – a practice that offers an ongoing experience of peace; and have worked for many years within the not-for-profit community sector. I love my life, my family, my friends!
I welcome couples of all genders and cultures – contact me today!
“Doug and I would like to sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. What a beautiful, unforgettable day we had! We were absolutely blown away with how in the planning of our day you moved across and captured all the amazing details that have such significance to us and these were delivered beautifully by yourself on the day. Would not hesitate to sing your praises and recommend you to other couples wishing to seal their nuptials. We are so touched and our lives made richer from your tender loving care of our day.”
Mr & Mrs Fielding, August 2017
Where to from here?
The first step is to get in touch …
Am I available?
Let’s establish if I am available for your wedding date. Get in touch to find out.
No-obligation Initial Meeting
If I am available, we arrange a time for us to either meet up in person or via Zoom. This is a free, no-obligation meeting for you to check if I am the right person for you – it is important you feel comfortable with me and that I will be able to craft your unique ceremony in the way that you will want.
Crafting the Ceremony
Once we have agreed to work together, and based on the initial meeting and a follow up Zoom meeting, I will create a draft ceremony for your initial assessment. We will then work together via email and phone until we agree that the ceremony creation is complete.
I will also provide you with a resource pack that includes the information you require for you to apply for your marriage licence, and examples of vows, poems and readings.
I highly recommend a rehearsal two weeks or so prior to your wedding day (although this is not obligatory). This will help settle your nerves as we go through the logistics of the ceremony, and will give you assurance and confidence that the day will run smoothly.
On the Day
I will arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony to liaise with the venue manager and to discuss any last-minute details. I will be there ready to greet your guests with a smile. And finally, I will be there to greet you both and deliver your ceremony.
Immediately following the ceremony, I will lodge your signed licence with the Registrar of Marriages, Births, Deaths and Marriages.
Fees are by negotiation, depending on the level of service you require and the location of the venue. We can discuss the base fee in the initial phone call.
Once we have agreed to work together I will invoice you for 50% of the agreed fee. This is a non-refundable fee and reflects the commitment we make with each other.
The balance of the fee will be due one week before the ceremony.
“We’re still marvelling at how well everything went . . . Thank you for being such a critical part of our big day, you handled the ceremony beautifully and helped us to stay calm.”
Dr & Mrs Camp, October 2020
